Flat Loop

It’s been two weeks since I took a Sunday ride, so I was happy the route I chose was very flat. I rode over to a buddy’s house in Neutraubling, met him there, and then we followed the Danube back towards Mariaort. At least we’d planned to: the bike/walking path along the north back is still all torn up — probably for the same reason as it was on March 21st....

Kelheim, First Time

W00T! First time venturing this far west on the ol' Drahtesel. Whether that’s kosher at the moment is another story. I neglected to think about that while planning this route. I am looking forward to taking little trips on the train and then biking back home. That should open up places like Parsberg and Beratzhausen and Landshut and Straubing. Easter 2021

Happy Easter! It’s been an ecumenical year since I started doing this. Time flies even when you’ve got nowhere (on the larger scale) to go. Bad Abbach, But Great Cheese

It’s Palm Sunday. Instead of the Bierpilgerfahrt to Adlersberg’s Prösslbrau for their Palmator, I opted to swing by a semi-local buddy’s house for a cheese sample. Wie lecker. Might be antithetical to the intent of this blog, though. Try Saint Agur Blue if you like the concept of bleu cheese but wish it were just little milder. Smear it on bread or crackers. Also this Pecorino Fantasia is a damn fine snackin' cheese....

Regensburg Loop Plagued by Detours

Despite the weather prediction I got out there again today. I had planned to do a ring around Regensburg so that I wouldn’t be obligated to wear a mask, which I rather dislike while on my bike (it’s not so bad except for the fact that I wear glasses). Almost right off the bat, I veered off from my planned course, but this only resulted in a a total route of a few kilometers less than the original route....
