Flattening the Curve

Kurzarbeit again today. I decided not to torture myself with a mountainous bike ride, but instead stick to a flat loop out south and east of town. This was along the R7 route recommended by the Landkreis Regensburg. The snaps: Sarching’s amphibious cacophony: Route: I messed up my own GPX track recording on this one, forgetting to separate this track from an aborted one on Wednesday, which explains the teleportation from home to the Ostbahnhof area....

Finally beat that hill!

Well, sorta. I cheated by telling my GPS to route me only on paved routes, which obviated huffing and puffing up the muddy hill. It was not another beautiful day. Kürn Around Bright Eyes

Another beautiful day. I mostly followed the Schlössertour from the Landkreis Regensburg. 1 The first leg was on the west bank of the Regen up to Regenstauf. I’d done that before. Very nice and level. The new bits started at Ramspau. It got lots more challenging from that point on. I thought it would be done with at Kürn, but nope. The path was sometimes paved, sometimes supposed to be paved, but under construction, and sometimes forest trail....

to Wolfsegg and Back

Another beautiful day. At least at the start of it — the clouds rolled in towards the end of my ride. The rivery parts along the Naab all the way up to Pielenhofen and the monastery on the river were nice and gentle. I took a little water and banana break there. But that’s where it started to get demanding. Just outside of Wall I thought to myself This is an appropriately-named hamlet....
